Yoga Class Descriptions

Kripalu Beginner focuses on alignment, breath and awareness for a meditative approach to yoga practice. It is often called Meditation in Motion. Each class ends with a deep relaxation.

Kripalu Moderate offers a wider range of poses for continuing students. Explore willful surrender through holding to tolerance and beyond. Develop concentration and focus. Spontaneous flow is encouraged.

Kripalu Master Class for Kripalu students committed to yoga in their lives, with a daily home practice and at least 1 year of study in Kripalu Yoga. The focus of the Kripalu Master class is an exploration of prana as well as venturing into more advanced poses and particularly longer holding 3-5 minutes. Independent flow guided by prana, and not the mind, is encouraged. Details of basic poses are not given and it is assumed that you know the postures and your own body well enough that this info is not needed and that you know how to modify and regulate yourself. It is also assumed that you have begun to explore the deeper aspects of Kripalu yoga's awareness of mind during practice and can separate a sense of "Self" from body and mind and be the observer of sensation and thought. Permission from instructor to attend.
