Reflexology

"I love having my feet worked on. It is relaxing and helps me keep dancing."
S.T.
Reflexology is an ancient healing technique that dates back over 1000's of years in many eastern cultures. Most often it refers to foot reflexology, however, in fact, there are stimulation reflexes on the feet, hands, ears and even throughout different parts of the body which have an effect at some other distant part of our physical systems.

Foot and hand reflexology consists of deep or light contacts often with a circular motion by the fingers of the practitioner. Each point affects an organ or part of the whole body roughly corresponding to a map of the entire body superimposed over the soles of feet or hands when placed together. Tender points often indicate an imbalance somewhere in the system. Continued work on these points is often helpful in creating balance and wholeness and clients observe the point becomes less and less sore. Diagnosis is not allowed nor is it useful from identification of sore points. A relaxing session lasts about 1 hour with the client resting on a massage table or seated in a chair.

"Reflexology helped get rid of my heel pain. Stretching exercises were important too."
B.L.
Studies have shown improvement in back pain and foot pain and many others have reported reduction of their symptoms and discomforts. However, reflexology is not a substitute for regular medical care. Your physician should be consulted for any medical problem.
